3 Tips to Help Manage Blood Sugar Levels
So the main purpose of a diabetic is controlling blood sugar levels right ?
Well this is in order to avoid future health complications and the bad stuff that can happen if your sugars are not in control.
There are many things that can impact your blood sugar levels but I will not discuss those here.
I will give you three tips that are very important for you to manage blood sugar levels.
Ive been a type 1 diabetic for the past 10 years so I know what I'm talking about. Trust me.
Please pay attention.
Today I will talk about these 3:
1 FOOD
2 MONITORING YOUR BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS
3 EXERCISE
Ready ? Here we go
Before; let me remind you this:
If you are a type 1 diabetic, I will give you all the information, tips and tools you need to gain complete confidence in your own diabetes management so you can live an active, healthy and happy life.
Simple. Straight forward. Minimalistic. No extra baggage. No BS.
Thats my promise and I will find meaning and purpose in this suffering. I will not keep this to myself.
3 TIPS TO HELP YOU MANAGE BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS:
1) FOOD:
Unless you are a baby being fed by your parents; you have a choice on the foods you eat.
You have to agree with me on this.
If you eat cr*p… Guess what? …
Simple:
-Prioritize Protein (steak, chicken, shrimp, turkey, fish, eggs, etc)
-Eat Veggies (anything green, eat it, anything that looks like grass, eat it)
-Eat Healthy Carbs (Quinoa, brown rice, broccoli, sweet potato, etc)
REAL- HEALTHY- WHOLE FOODS
Cut the bs processed / packaged cr*p.
Cut the sodas and all the food that makes you feel like shit after eating it.
If you go to a doctor right now and they tell you if you keep eating this crap you will die within a few days; i'm pretty sure you cut it out.
You know those foods that are not good for you.
Something in a box or package with more than 3 ingredients ? Think about it.
Yes; you can eat pizza, burgers, etc.
Balance.
My favorite food is burgers :)
I eat burgers on the weekends.
Have balance. Enjoy Life. You are human. Not a robot.
2 ) MONITOR YOUR BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS:
Prick your fingers, use a CGM @dexcom or whatever.
You need to be monitoring what your sugar levels are so you can make corrections.
You need to constantly check your glucose levels. Seriously. Do it.
If you don't, you will not take action to prevent a low blood sugar or correct a high blood sugar.
Monitoring is key.
I pricked my finger for 7 years until I got insurance and now I can use the Dexcom G7 sensor which is a game changer.
Check your blood sugar levels. At least 3 - 4 times per day.
I dont know your lifestyle but for me I try to do it before and after meals.
Find what works for you.
3) EXERCISE:
Move your ass.
Simple, straightforward, easy.
Yesterday I posted a story about who I am.
I don't write that I am a type 1 diabetic. Because I’m not. This will not define me.
I see diabetes as a fire in my ass to go out there and sweat, play, jump, workout, run, walk, whatever.
Let it burn… Let it Burn!!!!
You get my point? So many accounts and people complain about diabetes.
This and that, what does complaining give you ?
What do you gain from it ?
Is it hard? yes
Should you talk about it ? yes
Should you seek a therapist if you need to ? yes
But complaining will not help you.
So to close this letter:
-REAL-WHOLE-HEALTHY FOODS (80 %) Other Foods (20%)
-MONITOR AND CHECK GLUCOSE LEVELS (3,4,5 times per day or as many as needed)
-EXERCISE
I’ve been a type 1 diabetic for the past 10 years of my life and I wrote THE MANUAL where I explain all the tips and tools I use in order to keep blood sugars levels in range.
