This is How I Can Help You (Read this one)
Every time I get on Instagram or Facebook I'm bombarded with a bunch of ads of people and brands selling stuff.
Everyone has something to sell and everyone has some sort of advice on how to live your life.
It looks like everyone knows you better than you know yourself.
Someone somewhere has a solution or the piece that is missing that will make you complete.
Every ad reinforces the fact that there's something wrong with you or that you are missing something.
I don't even know what's real or fake anymore. Honestly I have no idea.
Way too much sh*t going on online.
How to be (insert whatever you want here)
How to do this
How to do that
How to make … a bunch of how to’s
And I'm pretty sure all these people are just as lost as everyone else.
Endless amounts of stuff coming at a 1000 miles per hour straight into your face. No brakes. Full speed.
Way too many distractions to be honest.
You know I've worked in sales for about 10 years of my life.
I don't really like the word sales but it seems like everyone does sales some way or another.
Today I am the product and I'm going to tell you the ways I can help you.
Remember is not selling; it's helping.
I want to provide value.
10 years ago when I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes I didn't have the knowledge about diabetes, nutrition, fitness, coaching and mindset that I have today.
It's been a journey and I wouldn't change a thing about it.
This journey has helped me build good habits, discipline and a mindset a lot of people lack.
I'm still working on getting better every single day.
But if I wait for the perfect day to arrive I might spend my whole life watching other people put out shitty content online and telling other people how to live. Pffff…
I want to be a doer, I want to make shit happen. I want to be part of something instead of just consuming mindlessly.
Today I am the product and I'm going to tell you 10 ways I can help you.
I'm putting myself out here because I know I can help you.
If you have been recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes or struggle with your diabetes management I can answer many of the same questions I had 10 years ago when I was completely new to this and felt frustrated, anxious, overwhelmed, sad. I was lost.
The problem many diabetics face especially if you are new to this is they don't know where to start so they don't know how to manage this condition.
So let me tell you how I can help you
I can help you gain:
1. Complete understanding of Diabetes Basics.
If you don't know what is happening with your body it will be very hard to know what to do about it.
I've read the books, listened to the podcasts and researched what this illness is about so I know what to do about it.
Why ? Because for the first few years after my diagnosis I was completely lost and I had to learn the basics the hard way.
You do not have to do this alone.
I can be your guide.
2. The Mindset tips required to manage diabetes every single day.
I can teach you the mindset tips you need in order to take control of this and not let diabetes control you.
You need to have the right mindset in order to deal with this every single day.
I've read the books on mindset and I put into practice the techniques and tips I know every single day.
Feel free to check my instagram and you will see that I can back up my words with actions.
I'm not interested in selling you anything. I'm interested in helping you shift the mindset from victim to Beast.
3. Basic understanding of insulin treatment.
Many people are afraid of insulin or just don't know what it is.
Insulin is important in order to treat your diabetes and you need to learn everything about it.
There are different types of insulin and you need to know how to use insulin doses in order to cover meals and insulin doses in order to correct high blood sugar levels.
When you understand how insulin works you can make the best decisions according to your specific goals.
4. Nutritional guidance in order to make the best food choices.
One of the things I had to learn as a diabetic is the importance of the foods I eat.
I have a certificate in nutrition and for the past ten years I have been testing what foods are good for me and what foods I should avoid.
The things I have learned as a diabetic as far as eating have helped me to build muscle and enjoy my body full of energy.
5. Weight Training tips in order to improve insulin sensitivity.
Weight training has helped me build muscle and has been one of the most important tools when it comes to diabetes management.
I've tested different forms of exercise and know how to lift weights and what the effects are on blood sugar levels.
6. The knowledge required to have stable and in range blood sugar levels while doing exercise.
Different forms of exercise affect blood sugars differently.
I know the tips and tools needed to have in range glucose levels while working out.
Planning and knowing what to do during a workout is important in order for you to get all the benefits from a workout session.
Not knowing what to do will lead to frustration and feeling you are wasting your time and effort.
7. Complete confidence in your own diabetes management so you can live an active, healthy and happy life.
There are many things we can’t control when it comes to life in general. But there are many aspects that I can control and this gives me the confidence and attitude needed to manage my diabetes.
When I know the basics regarding insulin timing, best food choices and exercise type; I can have better control than just guessing or doing things unconsciously.
Confidence requires strategies and tools I know that will help me keep control in different scenarios and situations.
8. The understanding of the most practical tips and tools you can use everyday to achieve in range glucose levels.
There are tips and tools I can use every single day in order to maintain in range glucose levels.
Routines, meal times, and following a schedule that works for you will help you stabilize blood sugar levels.
This approach could be different for everyone but the same principles and tools apply.
9. Peace of mind knowing your sugar levels are in target range and under control.
There's nothing worse than feeling the effects of high or low blood sugars. You literally feel like shit.
Tired, annoyed, fatigued.
You can not perform if you don't feel good. Period.
That's the reality.
Whether you are working out or just doing any activity; if you don't feel good in your own body most likely you will not perform the way you are supposed to.
10. The basics and fundamental understanding of how this illness works so you can make the best decisions in order to achieve great diabetes management.
Knowing what to do might not be enough.
You need systems and understanding of what to do and when.
There are many factors involved in your diabetes management and knowing the key players will help you avoid unnecessary stress and complications.
